SUBSEA UNIT NAME
This gives the name of the subsea unit. The name generally contains the name
of the field on which the units sits as well as information such as manifold
or template.
PURPOSE
- PRODUCTION: Unit produces product (see below under product)
- INJECTION: Unit present to inject water or gas into reservoir
- PRODUCTION/INJECTION:Unit functions in both a production and injection
role
- OBSERVATION: Unit set to monitor reservoir

WATER DEPTH (M.S.W)
The water depth over the unit in metres
TYPE
- WET Tree is exposed to sea
- DRY Tree is enclosed to protect it from seawater
- NEUTRABARIC 2 early wells accessible by divers from an adjoining
chamber
TEMPLATE
- YES More than 1 well on a template base
- NO The well is a single satellite well or one of a cluster around
a manifold
NUMBER OF WELL SLOTS
Indicates the number of well slots available on the subsea unit
NUMBER OF WELLS
Indicates the number of wells on the Subsea completion
START-UP DATE/YEAR
Date of first production. For future developments this can alter frequently
as plans are changed or delays occur during development.
Note on larger field developments it is likely that the installation or first
production dates for subsea completions will be staggered.
WORK OVER
- WIRE LINE In this instance the workover tool can be lowered from
surface to operate on SSC. In this instance there need be only one pipeline
to or from the SSC.
- THROUGH FLOWLINE This is relatively rare though it may become of
use again in deeper waters. Requires a pipeline loop so a tool can be sent
from the platform through the valves and then back to the platform
STATUS
- OPERATIONAL: Subsea unit is operating in its designed function.
- INSTALLED: Unit is in position but is not functioning.
- UNDER DEVELOPMENT: Unit is being constructed but is not yet in
place.
- FIRM PLAN: Facility is part of development concept for field where
development plan (PDO) has been submitted to relevant authority.
- PROBABLE: Facility is part of favoured development concept for
field at development Planning stage at company level.
- POSSIBLE: Unit is part of favoured development concept for field
at very early stage of evaluation.
- SHUT IN: Unit in place, but production is shut-in at present.
- ABANDONED: Production completed, facilities removed but subsea
wellhead not removed yet.
- REMOVED: Subsea unit has been removed.
- DEFERRED: Cancelled project
- SUPPLIED: Supplied to operator but not yet used.
